PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL IN VANCOUVER JOINS THE FILIPINO COMMUNITY FOR THE PREMIER OF “ FORGOTTEN ISLAND” IN VANCOUVER CINEMAS

29 September 2026, Vancouver, B.C.  -  The Filipino Legacy Society (FLS) a Filipino organization in Vancouver and other Filcom organizations,  sponsored the complimentary premier screening of the DreamWorks Animation’s first Filipino-inspired film “Forgotten Island” in Vancouver’s Scotia Bank Theatre on 25 September 2026.  The Filipino community gathered in pride and excitement in watching the two-hour film which brought to international screen Filipino folklore and traditions.

Philippine Consul General to Vancouver, Gina Jamoralin together with members of the Philippine Consulate team were invited to the premier screening and joined the Filipino community in expressing their deep appreciation for the Filipino artistry and talent shown by the artists, writers, and animation artists.

All the audience who attended the premier screening expressed their congratulations for the excellent film. The screening opened with the remarks of  Mr. Warren Flandez, FLS President and the members of the FLS Board. MLA Mable Elmore,  MLA Terry Yung and Vancouver Deputy Mayor Sarah Kirby Yung also delivered remarks. END.
