Vancouver, BC, 18 September 2026 - The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver is supporting the growing presence of Philippine Carabao mangoes in the Canadian market, as new commercial shipments and retail partnerships strengthen supply channels and bring the country’s premium mangoes to more Canadian consumers.
Philippine exporter Mensch Filam will make its maiden commercial shipment of fresh Carabao mangoes to its Canadian distribution partner, Freshmakers, based in Vancouver.
Mensch Filam, a second major exporter dedicated to supplying the Canadian market, signalling a significant expansion of opportunities for Philippine produce in North America. The entry of Mensch Filam and Freshmakers is expected to strengthen supply-chain reliability and provide a more consistent and steady distribution of premium Carabao mangoes to Canadian grocery stores, specialty markets, and consumers nationwide.
Known globally for their exceptional sweetness, velvety texture, and rich aroma, Philippine Carabao mangoes will continue to be promoted as one of the country's premier agricultural products. Philippine mangoes were recognized by Guinness World Records in 1999 for their exceptionally sweet taste.
The maiden shipment by Mensch Filam and Freshmakers will reflect growing Canadian demand for high-quality tropical fruits and will further strengthen bilateral trade ties between the Philippines and Canada. With multiple distribution channels becoming active, Canadian consumers will have greater access to fresh Philippine Carabao mangoes, with opportunities for expanded and more consistent supply throughout the year.
Fresh shipments will be arriving weekly at select retailers and specialty Asian supermarkets across Greater Vancouver and the Pacific Region, with expanded distribution across central and eastern Canada scheduled throughout the season.
The shipment followed the first arrival of Philippine Carabao mangoes at T&T Supermarket on 9 September 2026 through Ontario-based TSI Tropicals, sourced from farms accredited with Hi-Las Marketing in Taguig flown from the Philippines by Philippine Airlines, the country’s flag carrier. END
