26 AUGUST 2026, VANCOUVER, B.C. Last 19 August 2026, Mr. Ashwant Dwivedi, Honorary Consul of Solomon Islands, met with Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin to discuss areas of possible cooperation between the two Consulates in Vancouver. Also in attendance were Vice Consul Marco Harder, Labor Attache Maya Valderrama, and MWO Assistant Neil Justin Nicolas.
During the meeting, Mr. Dwivedi expressed interest in learning from the Philippines’ technologies in coconut product processing, packaging, and preservation, citing the advances the country has made in this space and how Solomon Islands may learn from the Philippines’ industry experts. He also commended the Philippines’ best practices in mitigating and managing coral bleaching in its marine environments, stating that the Solomon Islands faces the same problems as a Pacific Island nation.
Consul General Jamoralin welcomed Mr. Dwivedi’s observations and expressed the Philippines’ openness to working with the Solomon Islands on areas of mutual interest. She further encouraged Mr. Dwivedi to reach out to the relevant government agencies that have direct involvement in these areas.
As part of its mandate to advance the national interest, the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver proactively engages with the various consular representatives located in Vancouver and other areas in its jurisdiction to identify areas for collaboration. A key pillar of the Philippine foreign service, the pursuit of economic development through partnerships with other countries remains a guidepost for the Consulate in planning and executing its activities in BC, YT, and NWT.
