Second FIFA World Cup 2026 Consular Corps Briefing

Vancouver, 09 May 2026 — Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin, on behalf of the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, attended the Second FIFA World Cup 2026 Consular Corps Briefing on 8 April 2026 at the Vancouver Convention Centre, as part of ongoing coordination efforts ahead of the tournament.
The briefing, organized in collaboration with the City of Vancouver, the Province of British Columbia, and FIFA Canada, provided updates on preparations for the arrival of official delegations from FIFA member associations and the anticipated influx of international spectators.
Opening remarks were delivered by Minister Anne Kang, followed by presentations from BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo), FIFA Canada, and tourism partners, Destination BC and Destination Vancouver.
The opening presentation was delivered by Ms. Rehana Din of PavCo. PavCo, owners and operators of BC Place and Vancouver Convention Centre, outlined venue readiness, operational planning, and inter-agency coordination, and highlighted the upcoming 76th FIFA Congress, expected to bring approximately 1,400 participants to Vancouver.

Mr. Will Hoyle presented the BC Business House as a space for the Consular Corps, delegates, and FIFA representatives. It will offer work areas, meeting rooms, match viewing, and reception facilities throughout the event. He also shared the schedule and noted that the space must be booked in advance.
Tourism partners, including Destination BC and Destination Vancouver, showcased the province's diverse travel offerings under the "Game Plan for BC: Capitalizing on FIFA World Cup 2026." The strategy promotes regional experiences across British Columbia, highlighting its natural landscapes, cultural attractions, and world-class destinations.
Destination Vancouver also presented key attractions available to visitors, including the Seawall, Kitsilano Beach, Burrard Inlet, Capilano Suspension Bridge, and the Gastown Steam Clock, underscoring Vancouver's unique blend of natural beauty and urban experiences.

On the sidelines of the event, participants engaged in discussions with key officials and stakeholders, including representatives from FIFA World Cup 2026 Vancouver, members of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, and members of the Consular Corps.
