VANCOUVER, 12 March 2025 – Philippine Consul General Dr. Gina A. Jamoralin met with Deputy Minister Fazil Mihlar of the British Columbia (BC) Ministry of Jobs, Economic Development, and Innovation to discuss key areas of cooperation, including credentials recognition for Filipino migrants, support for Filipino-Canadian small businesses, and trade and investment opportunities between the Philippines and British Columbia. The Deputy Minister was accompanied by Mr. Patrick Barry, Senior Manager of the ASEAN Global Markets Division.
During the meeting, both sides explored ways to enhance economic partnerships and address issues relevant to the Filipino community in BC. Discussions covered recent developments in trade, market diversification, and economic policies, as well as initiatives to assist Filipino entrepreneurs and new migrants in navigating BC’s business and regulatory environment.
The Philippine Consulate General looks forward to further collaboration with the BC Ministry of Jobs, Economic Development, and Innovation to create meaningful opportunities that benefit both the Philippines and the broader BC economy. END
