29 March 2019 – Consul General Maria Andrelita S. The meeting, hosted by the Consulate General of Mexico in Vancouver, discussed developments in crafting the regulation which shall bring into force the Temporary Foreign Worker Protection Act, the latest provincial government legislation aimed at the protection of foreign nationals working in B.C. According to the Ministry of Labour, the Act will be implemented in three phases – licensing of foreign recruiter (Spring 2019), registering employers seeking to hire TFWs (Fall 2019), and full implementation (Spring 2020).
