18 January 2017 – Consul General Neil Frank Ferrer of the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver met with Mr. Peter Evans, President of Harbour Air Group, the world’s largest seaplane transport company during a visit to the company’s main office and terminal in Richmond, Vancouver. Mr. Evans gave a tour of Harbour Air’s office and warehouse where the company’s fleet of more than 50 aircrafts are regularly maintained and repaired.
Consul General Ferrer noted the benefits and opportunities of introducing seaplane transport in the Philippines. The use of seaplanes to transport people throughout the country’s numerous islands will promote local tourism and offer an alternative, safe and convenient mode of transport for the public.
Established in 1982, Harbour Air provides seaplane services to Vancouver, downtown Victoria, Nanaimo, South Vancouver (YVR), Sechelt, Comox, Pitt Meadows the Gulf Islands and Whistler, along with several scenic adventure tours and private charters. Consul General Ferrer thanked Mr. Evans for offering to share the company’s expertise and experience in operating a seaplane business. - END
