Cultural Center of the Philippines announces the
3rd Andrea O. Veneracion International Choral Festival
13 March 2017 —The Cultural Center of the Philippines and the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver invite qualified choirs and chorale groups in British Columbia, Yukon and Northwest Territories to join the 3rd Andrea O. Veneracion International Choral Festival to be held on 20-23 July 2017 in Manila, Philippines.
The musical competition, named after the founder of the world-renowned Philippine Madrigal Singers, the late National Artist for Music Professor Andrea O. Veneracion, is open to choirs from different parts of the world who wish to compete in the following categories: (1) Folk Song; (2) Vocal Ensemble, and (3) Chamber Choir.
This biennial event first took place in August 2013, and was followed by another successful second edition in July 2015. The festival honors the memory of Ms. Veneracion, who was an esteemed choirmaster and choral clinician, and was instrumental in the promotion of choral music in the Philippines.
