NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC
16 October 2015 - The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver advises the public against transacting with a person introducing himself as “Dr. Tex Kissoon,” claiming to represent the British Columbia (BC) Children’s Hospital in Vancouver and actively recruiting medical professionals from the Philippines.
This Dr. Kissoon also works through a company called TRIPLE ONE HUMAN MANPOWER RESOURCES CORPORATION.
A number of individuals have reported being victimized by this “Dr. Kissoon,” who demands cash payments, in exchange for non-existent jobs at the hospital.
According to the BC Provincial Health Services Authority, BC Children’s Hospital is in no way associated with this scheme and does not conduct its recruitment in this manner.
Members of the Filipino community are strongly advised to warn friends, relatives and family members in the Philippines against falling victim to this fraudulent practice.
Persons who have been approached or offered jobs by this “Dr. Kissoon” at the BC Children’s Hospital are also advised to immediately report the matter to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) Anti-Illegal Recruitment Branch or other concerned government agencies. (END)
